Gamescom 2026 - GeForce On Community Update and RTX 5080 Giveaway

It's time for Gamescom 2026. I am covering it on site myself as usual, and for the kick-off, NVIDIA has just premiered the Geforce On Community Update, with tech announcements, news and game announcements.

THE NVIDIA GAMESCOM ANNOUNCEMENTS:

NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction

It is available now for all GeForce RTX GPUs via a new NVIDIA app update, introducing several major improvements:

  • Efficient Denoiser: The new model delivers 35% more compute capability, and processes 20% more parameters, while maintaining similar performance to the previous model

  • Enhanced Super Resolution: Building upon the advances from DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution, the model has deeper spatial awareness across every scene, and more intelligently uses game engine pixel sampling and motion data. The result is improved lighting accuracy, better temporal stability and clearer motion in ray-traced and path-traced content

  • Expanded Training Dataset: Trained on a larger dataset, the new model is even better at image reconstruction. This intelligence gives the model even better awareness to pick the most accurate engine data to reconstruct scenes closer to ground truth

  • Finer Developer Control: The new model provides developers with finer control for temporal accumulation, providing precise tuning of model response for even better image quality

To upgrade your system with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, go to Settings > About in the NVIDIA app and opt in to Early Access releases (an official release will follow in September).

Once installed:

RTX Remix Upgraded With DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, New Painkiller Mod Update Released & Morrowind RTX Mod Revealed

I remember being a kid, installing Morrowind, and being in awe at what was probably the first major RPG I ever played. Now it's going to get RTX! What NVIDIA RTX Remix does it use modern tech to help modernize classic PC games with path tracing and RTX technologies. Now it adds DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation too! RTX SPARK

NVIDIA RTX Spark arrives this Fall and leading publishers are bringing blockbuster PC games and technology to NVIDIA RTX Spark. Check the full announcement here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/gamescom-2026-nvidia-geforce-rtx-dlss-4-5-announcements/#rtx-spark

Here’s the statement straight from NVIDIA:

NVIDIA is bringing the next wave of RTX gaming to Gamescom with support for new games, anti-cheat technologies and increased visual quality.

Electronic Arts, Embark and Ubisoft are among the latest game publishers and developers bringing blockbuster titles to NVIDIA RTX Spark ahead of its launch this Fall. They join the publishers that announced RTX Spark support at COMPUTEX in May, including KRAFTON, NetEase, Riot Games and XBOX.

NVIDIA is working closely with game developers and ecosystem partners to ensure today’s top PC games, including EA SPORTS F1® 25 and Apex Legends, Ubisoft’s Anno 117: Pax Romana, and Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders and THE FINALS, run seamlessly on RTX Spark devices.

“We’re excited to bring Anno 117: Pax Romana to a new generation of RTX-powered PCs,” said Stéphane Jankowski, Ubisoft executive producer of Anno 117 : Pax Romana. “Our teams build the game to be seen wide: full districts, long sightlines, thousands of details at once. Seeing RTX Spark hold that level of fidelity from a single chip is genuinely impressive.”

RTX Spark reinvents personal computing, bringing personal AI agents, advanced content creation and high-performance gaming together in a platform engineered from the ground up for the next wave of Windows PCs. For gamers, RTX Spark combines Windows devices with NVIDIA RTX technologies, including DLSS and Reflex.

Supporting modern PC gaming goes beyond running the game itself. Many of today’s biggest online games rely on sophisticated anti-cheat technologies, to enable fair play across the multiple platforms these games run on.

NVIDIA has been working with EA to bring native EA Javelin Anticheat support to RTX Spark, including EA’s biggest multiplayer games, such as EA SPORTS F1® 25. RTX Spark launches this Fall.
